If it’s fast cars you’re after then we can organise track day tuition, driving experience and passenger rides for all abilities in anything from a Renault Clio to a Radical SR8 at Castle Combe. Castle Combe is an historic track and is perfect for the more advanced drivers looking for fast speed driving and who will appreciate the challenge of the infamous Quarry Corner and yet is also suitable for those new to the racing circuit. Each race track day will be tailored to suit our guests’ requirements.
For the cycling enthusiast we can organise bike hire delivered to and collected from The Barn or feel free to bring your own and take a tour of the surrounding area on two wheels. We’ll provide a selection of routes for you to follow or leave the maps behind and take a guide along with you. Our picnics are second to none and ensure that you’re well catered for even when you’re miles away from home.
The Cotswold Water Park is much more than just a park. It’s an area of 40 square miles with more than 150 lakes, set across the countryside of Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and West Oxfordshire between Swindon and Cirencester. For action and adventure, look no further. There are so many opportunities if you’re looking to get out onto the water. Sailing, water- skiing, kayaking, wakeboarding, inflatables, boating and there’s even a beach on one of the lakes nearby. So if getting wet’s your thing then the Cotswold Water Park is for you.
For those wanting to jump into the saddle, the Cotswolds have an abundance of riding centres within easy reach of The Barn. We can arrange escorted rides across the countryside, pub rides, group and private tuition for all ages and abilities, hacking and pony trekking.
There are so many glorious golf courses nearby that it would be difficult to resist the lure of the green. Many of the courses in the surrounding area extend a warm welcome to visitors of all ages and handicaps. There are some offering a comfortable round of golf and others which offer something a little more challenging. Come back to The Barn after 18 holes, kick off the golf shoes and let us provide you with a cream tea in the garden. The perfect end to the day.
“Gone Fishing” Angling is one of the most popular pastimes in the Cotswolds and with so many lakes, rivers and canals, it’s not difficult to see why. The River Thames begins its’ 180 mile journey from Kemble and as it meanders through the Cotswolds several tributaries flow into it. The Thames and it’s streams provide some of the best coarse and trout fishing in the country. Before joining the Thames at Lechlade, The River Coln, flows through some of the most picturesque countryside and provides angling for brown and rainbow trout as well as grayling. If you’re a keen fisherman, come and experience the joy of angling in the Cotswolds and if you’re new to the sport then tuition can easily be arranged. Take one of our delicious picnics with you to savour whilst you sit and dream of the perfect catch.
Clay shooting for the novice or the more experienced can easily be arranged for individuals, families or groups with or without tuition. There is a local clay and shooting school set in the glorious Cotswold countryside with expert staff on hand to guide all ages and abilities.
